Saputo USA continues to flex its prowess in the cheese space, wielding the success of a variety of premium brands. With the introduction of two enticing new flavors, consumers are being presented with a host of opportunities for category exploration and holiday entertaining this season.
“Around the holidays, the opportunities in this category are abundant, especially as charcuterie and cheese boards remain a strong trend in the food and dining world,” shared Philip Forbes-Pryer, Director of Category Management – Imported Cheese. “As these small plates and serving options remain of high interest to consumers, Saputo continues to present new and exciting cheese flavors and size formats for shoppers to explore.”
Satisfying demand this season, Saputo has two new flavors that are set to delight consumers. The first is the El Cortijo Dorado product. Made from a 50/50 blend of sheep and cow’s milk using a selection of exclusive lactic cultures and matured for 6+ months, this award-winning cheese has an authentically sweet, complex flavor profile and smooth texture.
The second product shaking up the cheese case is the El Cortijo Sheep Cheese with Olive oil. It uses fresh milk sourced from the rich regions of Castilla La Mancha and the Mounts of Toledo, delivering rich and characteristic flavors to the cheese. The cheese is covered in delicate and beautiful olive oil, making this an exquisite delicacy.
“Spanish Cheeses are known for their variety, flavors, textures, and production methods,” Philip adds. “These unique attributes derive from Spain’s diverse landscapes and climates, in addition to each region’s culinary traditions and cheese-making heritage. Consumers like the diversity of Spanish cheeses—from their flavors and textures to versatility of use, Spanish cheeses are ideal options for charcuterie and cheese boards, sandwiches, salads, toppers, and more.”
