Saputo is showing off its impressive success in the cheese sector as it adds two new accolades to its belt. The cheesemaker’s Montchevre® goat cheese brand recently garnered two prestigious awards at this year’s World Championship Cheese Contest.
Taking the spotlight with two new-to-market products, the supplier received recognition for its Montchevre Blueberry Lemon fresh goat cheese and Cranberry Port Topped goat cheese.
The multi-award-winning Blueberry Lemon fresh goat cheese took home Silver in the Soft Goat’s Milk Cheeses, Flavored With Sweet Condiments category, scoring 99.5 points out of 100, according to a press release. The enticing offering puts a tangy twist on the company’s top-selling Blueberry Vanilla goat cheese, which fans have loved for years. The cheese is hand-rolled in blueberries and infused with a lemon zest to create the perfect fresh cheese for snacking and baking.
Also newly released is the Cranberry Port Topped goat cheese, which was awarded Bronze in the Soft Goat’s Milk Cheeses, Flavored category with a score of 98.25 points out of 100. The acclaimed Cranberry Port variety is topped with cranberries, orange, ginger, and lemon.
The World Championship Cheese Contest, hosted by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association, brings together suppliers from across the cheese, butter, and yogurt categories. This year’s competition received 2,978 entries from 29 nations.
Congratulations to the Montchevre brand and the dedicated network of family farmers who work to bring this high-quality, great-tasting cheese to consumers!
