At Deli Market News, we emphasize time and time again the importance of understanding shoppers’ purchasing behaviors and the retail trends that influence them. Helping producers play into this strategy, SpartanNash has unveiled critical findings from a survey from OnePoll, revealing valuable insights in the retail space.
OnePoll surveyed a total of 1,000 American adults to explore the current shifts happening in the retail sector.
Among the poll’s findings, SpartanNash revealed that consumers are heavily focused on pricing, noting that 49 percent of consumers say affordability is the most important when grocery shopping in 2024.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is another trend that is rapidly gaining traction. According to the survey, consumers also plan to harness technology on their grocery trips. In fact, 42 percent of shoppers already use or plan to use AI for their grocery habits in 2024. Shoppers can optimize AI to make meal plans, shopping lists, and more.
Another key focus taking a top spot in consumers’ shopping concerns is health and nutrition. One in four shoppers has reported that health and nutrition are the most important focuses when shopping for groceries in 2024, SpartanNash shared.
Other key trends uncovered in the poll include rising demand for one-dish meals, high-protein snacks, and low-sugar offerings.
