Years of leadership experience can bring a host of new opportunities to a company, and that’s exactly what Sprouts Farmers Market has tapped into with the newest addition to its executive team. The grocer recently named Nicholas Konat as President and Chief Operating Officer, who will oversee the chain’s operations, marketing, merchandising, and innovation.
“I am honored to join Sprouts and look forward to working with the team as we continue to profitably grow by fulfilling our mission of providing healthy living options for less to more people,” said Konat. “Sprouts pioneered making healthy food affordable twenty years ago, and I hope to build on this foundation by serving our customers, making lasting positive changes to the company and improving access to fresh, natural, and organic foods as we expand across the country.”
In his new position, Konat will report directly to Jack Sinclair, Chief Executive Officer, a press release stated.
Before joining Sprouts, Konat worked at Petco as Chief Merchandising Officer from 2018. Prior to that, he served as Vice President of Private Brands and Merchandising and Senior Vice President-General Manager.
Previously, Konat also worked as Director of Food Merchandise Planning at Target after spending more than nine years with the retailer in a range of leadership positions across the food and fashion categories. He also spent six years with Accenture, a multinational professional services company.
“I am absolutely thrilled to welcome Nick to the Sprouts executive leadership team,” stated Sinclair “Nick’s deep-rooted merchandising and product innovation experience with preeminent retail brands will help to propel our company forward as we continue to execute on our strategic plan.”
We here at Deli Market News offer a big congratulations to Nicholas Konat on this new Chief role!
