A talented leader has risen through the ranks and entered the executive ring. Stater Bros. Markets recently promoted Irene Willins to the role of Vice President, Finance.
Willins first joined the team in 2000 as a Financial Analyst in the Accounting/Finance Department. Since then, she has held a variety of key roles, such as Assistant Controller, Controller-Retail Operations, and her most recent position as Senior Controller-Accounting/Finance.
In her new role, Willins will be harnessing her over two decades of experience to oversee various aspects of the company’s day-to-day financial management, including payroll, accounts payable, budgeting and forecasting, and store-level financial services.
According to a press release, Willins’ team-oriented philosophy and personable demeanor have served her well as a team lead for several crucial company initiatives, including the selection and implementation of a new Human Capital Management (HCM) software platform, the organization’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project, and deployment of new point-of-sale and sales audit processing systems.
Willins holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business from the University of California, Riverside, and also serves on the Board of Directors for Stater Bros. Charities. As Vice President, Finance, she will report to Stater Bros. Executive Vice President, Finance, Chief Financial Officer, and Principal Accounting Officer Dave Harris.
“Irene’s promotion recognizes the important role she has played over the years in helping manage the financial operations of our company,” commented Stater Bros. Chief Executive Officer Pete Van Helden. “I look forward to working with Irene in her role as an important contributor in projects critical to the company achieving its key objectives.”
Three cheers to Irene Willins as she starts her new chapter!
