A company is only as strong as the people who work to uphold its success. A powerful workforce leads to a formidable operation, and US Foods is well aware of that. The distributor was recently honored for its commitment to its associates, as it was presented with a 2021 Top Workplace honor by the Chicago Tribune.
“It is an honor to be recognized as a Top Workplace by the Chicago Tribune, especially when the judges are our valued associates,” said Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer David Works. “At US Foods, we are committed to creating an inclusive and dynamic workplace where our associates can grow and thrive, and a culture where our associates know they matter and that their voices are heard. This honor reinforces that this commitment is indeed reflected in how our associates view their everyday work life, and that makes us all very proud.”
Out of the 200 workplaces featured on the list, US Foods earned the distinguished honor of being ranked number 26. According to a press release, the coveted award is presented to companies in the Chicago, Illinois-area that create and sustain a positive and productive culture for their employees.
Those featured on the list are based solely on anonymous associate feedback gathered through a third-party survey that measures 15 aspects of engaged cultures that are vital to the success of an organization. Those factors include alignment, execution, and connection.
Some of the top-scoring survey items collected from US Foods’ Rosemont-based associates related to them feeling well-informed about decisions, having managers that care, and the company encouraging different points of view. Additionally, collaboration and inclusivity were among the most common words used to describe the distributor’s culture.
