The Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) and the Center for Dairy Research recently announced that sustainability would be a main focus of the 2024 CheeseExpo. With the event taking place April 16-18, the organizations are now touting the unique networking opportunities available to attendees.

Attendees under 40 will enjoy the chance to catch up with friends and build their networks at WCMA’s Young Professionals gathering. Following the popular Tetra Pak Welcome Reception on Tuesday, April 16, WCMA will host an evening of fun and networking at Drink Wisconsinbly Pub. Tickets for this event must be purchased separately during CheeseExpo registration, a press release stated.

On Wednesday, April 17, during the Collegiate Dairy Products Evaluation Contest, teams of undergraduates will test their skills in grading cheese, butter, yogurt, milk, and ice cream. The competitors who score closest to the expert evaluations are honored with awards.

The focus of the 2024 CheeseExpo will be sustainability and its effects on the future of dairy processorsOn Wednesday evening, attendees will have the chance to celebrate the recipients of WCMA’s Student Scholarships and the graduates of WCMA’s top-rated industry education programs at the Novonesis Reception & Championship Cheese Auction. WCMA will salute the up-and-coming leaders benefiting from its annual industry scholarships and educational offerings—funded in part by the auction that follows.
