Ample Hills Creamery Debuts Star Wars-Themed Ice Cream

With just a little over a week left before the premiere of the next episode in the Star Wars saga, hardcore fans are already sweeping up as much limited-edition merchandise as they can. They can add one more item to that list, starting today: Star Wars Ice Cream.

From the company that was named Food Network’s “Best Ice Cream in America” and rated #1 in New York City by Zagat, Ample Hills Creamery has teamed up with Disney Consumer Products to introduce two new Star Wars-themed ice cream flavors.

The Light Side flavor is a bright marshmallow ice cream with homemade crispie clusters, as well as a smattering of handmade cocoa crispies to represent the dark side still lurking within the light.

The Dark Side flavor, on the other hand, is an ultra-dark chocolate ice cream with espresso fudge brownies, cocoa crispies, and white chocolate pearls to represent the light still hiding in the dark.

Each pint features Star Wars characters and original artwork from Ample Hills Creamery’s Art Director, Lauren Kaelin.

Ample Hills Creamery will sell these flavors at its online store in four-packs (two of each flavor) for $36.

Ample Hills Creamery Co-Owner and ice cream maker Brian Smith said in a company announcement, “As a sci-fi writer in my past professional life, and a longtime Star Wars fan” – (“Star Wars super fan,” clarifies Jackie Cuscuna, Co-Owner of Ample Hills and Smith’s wife) – “this is a dream collaboration. And to be able to work with Lucasfilm and Disney Consumer Products to create new ice cream flavors that represent the two sides of The Force…that might just be the coolest thing we’ve ever done.”

As a Star Wars super fan myself, this looks like a great gift for any fan or ice cream lover. Don’t miss your chance to grab this limited-edition flavor from Ample Hills Creamery.
