Califia Farms® is celebrating a whirlwind product launch after the introduction of its new line of Probiotic Dairy-Free Yogurt Drinks was met with wide success in 7,000 stores across 47 U.S. states, including Whole Foods, Kroger, 7-Eleven, and more.
“The immediate appeal of our new Probiotic Dairy-Free Yogurt Drinks across a wide variety of retail channels underscores the increased demand and mass acceptance for innovative plant-based products that have a great taste profile,” said Co-Founder and CEO Greg Steltenpohl. “In just four months after launch, our Probiotic Yogurts have nearly 28,000 points of distribution—which is a major achievement for an independent company like Califia. To put in perspective, it normally takes several years for new products to incubate in Natural and Specialty stores before being picked up by mainstream retailers. This represents a real tipping point for the future of the category.”
Specifically, more than 42 retail chains have accepted the product to-date, with broad cross-channel adoption at conventional grocery, natural, and specialty, convenience, drug, and mass retailers, according to a press release.
The Packaged Facts’ recent Breakfast Product Trends report also showed that consumer retail sales of drinkable yogurt and yogurt smoothies increased 19.9 percent, from $760 million in 2016 to $911 million in 2017, and will continue to grow another 13 percent by 2022. Thus, the new drinkable Probiotic Yogurts are not only on-trend with the rising demand for convenient, on-the-go options, but are also hitting their mark in a booming category.
The company spent over two years perfecting the unique, nutritious, and low-in-sugar blend for the new Probiotic Yogurts, which have a base of almond, coconut, and oat and a trio of probiotics that make up the Califia Culture Blend™—powered by BB-12 and provides 10 billion live, active probiotic CFUs upon consumption.
Available in four dairy-free flavors—including Strawberry, Super Berry, Mango, and Unsweetened Plain—the new Probiotic Dairy-Free Yogurt Drinks come in both multi-serve and single-serve options.
