Continuing a year-long winning streak, Emmi Roth USA captured 14 awards at the 29th Annual World Cheese Awards in Spain. These wins bring the Wisconsin-based cheesemaker to more than 30 awards in 2016 alone.

"Great cheese is a testament to our high milk standards, cheesemaking traditions, and the dedication and expertise of our cheesemakers and cellar masters around the globe."
The company’s cheesemakers tallied two gold awards, six silver, and six bronze, and their awarded cheeses ranged from traditional Swiss imports like Emmi Kaltbach Gruyère and Emmi Emmentaler to Wisconsin-made American originals like Roth® Prairie Sunset.
Wisconsin-produced Roth® brand cheeses took home five awards, including a silver for Roth® Prairie Sunset. Bronze awards were granted for the following varieties:
Likewise, Emmi Roth’s import from Switzerland won big. The company took home gold for the following cheeses:
Five silvers were awarded to Studer Alter Schweizer and several of the companies Kaltbach™ line of cheeses—including the new Kaltbach™ Le Crémeux cheese, which is slated to hit U.S. markets in early-2017. And the company won bronze awards for Emmi Emmentaler and Kaltbach™ Le Gruyere varieties, from the Meikirch and Moudon regions, respectively.

The World Cheese Awards is among the largest and most well-respected cheese events in the world. Hosted by the U.K.’s Guild of Fine Food, the event featured more than 260 judges scoring over 3,000 cheeses from 31 countries.
