Unseasonably warm weather along with cheeses and other treats from the state were in store for attendees at Marin French Cheese’s 3rd Annual Summer Picnic held Sunday, September 10th, 2017. More than 25 companies showcased products, picnicked, and participated—sampling local food, enjoying live music, networking with colleagues, and connecting with consumers.
"It was a spectacular day for the picnic on the cheese factory's idyllic grounds last Sunday,” said Elyzabeth Dehapiot, Marketing Director of Marin French Cheese and Laura Chenel’s. "Several hundred fans stopped by Marin French Cheese to listen to reggae while sampling cheese and other local goodies from over 25 participating food purveyors.”
In addition to Marin French and its sister company Laura Chenel’s, this year’s picnic featured participation from the California Artisan Cheese Guild and a myriad of fine food providers. From confectioners to apiarists, ice cream-makers to fig growers, the picnic featured a far-flung combination of culinary possibilities and participating companies, including:
Picnickers enjoyed the musical stylings of Bay Area reggae band Iriefuse and had a first-hand opportunity to watch local artists ply their talents. Artists included the Barboni Family, Samantha Buller, Linda Carter Holman, and photographer Mike McClure.
“For the first time we had local painters and a photographer join us as well, which was a nice addition to the festivities,” added Elyzabeth. “We’re grateful to all of our participants and delighted that our annual picnic continues to draw such a crowd, even when the temperature is unseasonably high.”
