Organic Valley Introduces Packaging Innovation

Committed to consumer satisfaction and innovation, Organic Valley announced new packaging for Organic Valley HTST pasteurized milk and Grassmilk®. The first-of-its-kind half-gallon container is made from recyclable BPA-free #2 plastic and has an easy-grip design that fits with consumer preference.

“We are very excited about this new packaging option that is the result of extensive consumer feedback showing their preference for containers that are easy to hold and widely recyclable,” said Lewis Goldstein, Organic Valley’s Vice President of Brand Marketing, in a recent press release. “Just as our farmer-owned cooperative is always striving to produce the highest quality organic food for consumers, we also want to provide it in the packaging they want.”

Different colored bottles indicate fat levels and match the brand’s previous packaging colors for an intuitive shopping experience. Like all Organic Valley milk containers, these innovative carafes feature photographs of actual Organic Valley farmers–connecting consumers with real farmers who produce milk in their region.

This is the latest innovation from Organic Valley through the cooperative’s 50/50 joint venture with Dean Foods that opened for business in March 2017. By partnering with Dean Foods, Organic Valley is using a competitive production system and direct-to-store distribution for Organic Valley HTST milk.
