Organic Valley is on a mission to change the way people think about food–where it comes from, how it is produced, and of course…how it tastes. This year, the company is showcasing its Grassmilk line of products, with benefits for the consumer palate, organic-lover, and health conscious shopper.
Jenny Crowley, Associate Brand Manager, joined me to dish on the popular line, and share what it is about Grassmilk that has all the retailers talking.
“Organic Valley’s Grassmilk line has welcomed accolades far and wide, because these items are made from cows that are 100 percent grass-fed—no supplemental feed, grain or soybeans in their diet,” Jenny said, noting that as a result, they have a hint of seasonal flavor. “Our milk and yogurt stand apart from others because of a layer of cream on the top of each carton, tub or cup. Consumers rave about it and retailers are bringing differentiation to their deli departments to help drive sales.”
Speaking nutritionally, the Organic Valley Grassmilk line has higher levels of naturally occurring conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) as well, thought to improve immune function, as well as omega-3 fatty acids. Organic Valley’s Grassmilk line includes cheeses, milk, and yogurt.
“Grassmilk products can make any meal better. Breakfast is an easy win with our milk and yogurt lines, but many people also use our Grassmilk milk as a main ingredient for dinners and our yogurt as dessert,” Jenny said. “Both our Grassmilk cheese and the yogurt cups are perfect for a filling, satisfying snack.”
Currently, the line is available at a variety of outlets, including grocery stores, big box stores, and natural foods retailers. Organic Valley’s products are 100% USDA Certified Organic, which also means they’re non-GMO.
“But, what they might not realize is that we’re the largest organic cooperative in the United States. Our more than 2,000 farmer-owners decide how Organic Valley is run,” Jenny added. “It’s a great way to keep families on their farms while also creating exceptional products.”
When flavor meets nutrition meets craft, you know you’ll find that item on my grocery list!
