Last week, Sargento Foods Inc. announced it is remodeling 7,000 square feet and adding 41,500 square feet of production and warehousing space to its Kiel facility. Partnering with C.D. Smith Construction as its general contractor, construction will begin this April and conclude by the end of 2018.
“We are proud to once again be growing in Kiel. This project will support our commitment to producing safe, quality, and legal products for our customers and consumers,” said Louie Gentine, CEO and third-generation Owner, in a press release. “We keep every family in mind when making our products, including every member of the Sargento Family—our employees.”
With plans for increased production, Sargento has incrementally added staff to the Kiel facility and will likely add 25-40 employees as construction continues.
Along with its Kiel facility, Sargento Foods operates facilities in three other Wisconsin communities: Plymouth, Hilbert, and Elkhart Lake.
