Not being the type of cheese company to disappoint visitors of the Summer Fancy Food Show, Sartori Company released its latest creation, a hand-rubbed Chipotle BellaVitano® Reserve cheese. The new cheese, inspired by "south-of-the-border" seasonings, will be available to retailers nationwide beginning mid-July.
On its way to the show in New York City, the Chipotle BellaVitano® collected a 2nd place award in the Flavored Hard Cheese category at the biannual World Championship Cheese Contest.
"We are so proud to see our newest BellaVitano embraced by an international panel of judges," said Jim Sartori, CEO and owner of Sartori Cheese, according to a press release. "The award was a true testament to the hard work of our talented Team Members, the quality of our ingredients and our devotion to artisan cheesemaking."
Noting on the flavor characteristics of the newest BellaVitano® family member, Master Cheesmaker at Sartori, Mike Matucheski says the cheese is "bold, yet balanced," and "like all of our BellaVitanos, we were mindful of making the flavors of the rub complementary to the complexities of the cheese."
However complex, Sartori Company once again seems to make cheesemaking look easy.
