Schuman Cheese Wins 15 Awards at ICA and ACS

As Schuman Cheese hones its strategic focus on innovation and product development, the company is maintaining its forward momentum through industry recognition. The company was recently bestowed a stunning 15 new medals for its trophy case, from both the International Cheese Awards (ICA) and American Cheese Society (ACS).

The company’s newly awarded items included several new-to-market varieties from its just-launched Yellow Door Creamery Alpine collection, according to a press release, in addition to its flagship Cello brand, and popular Montforte cheeses.

  • Valis: 3rd, Raclette-Style, Washed Rind Division, ACS
  • Bergamot & Hibiscus Rubbed Fontina: 2nd, Best USA Cheese with Additives, ICA
  • Tuscan Rubbed Fontina: 2nd, Rubbed-Rind, ICA
  • Montforte Blue: 1st, Best USA Cheese/Blue, ICA
  • Montforte Gorgonzola: 3rd, Best USA Cheese/Blue, ICA
  • Cello Grated Parmesan: 2nd, Grated Cheese (non-UK), ICA

Schuman noted that its cheeses were chosen amongst nearly 5,700 entries at this year’s ICA. The event, in its 120th occurrence, featured artisan cheeses from around the globe, with over 250 expert judges in attendance. More than 50 companies participated in this year’s contest. 

The annual ACS Judging & Competition celebrates the art of American cheese making. Awards are given to products that exhibit the highest technical and aesthetic qualities. This year’s even saw a record 281 companies and 2,024 products
