BelGioioso Cheese continues to thrive in 2017, earning accolades from the American Cheese Society (ACS) and adding products to the company’s constantly evolving lineup of cheeses with deep roots in artisanal tradition.
I recently had the opportunity to talk with Sofia Auricchio Krans, a fifth-generation member of the cheesemaking family, about the company’s history and new offerings introduced this year.
“We continue in the line, to add new products,” Sofia tells me. “We have our Bottega di BelGioioso which is a completely artisan line. We featured three new cheeses…the Italico, Pepato, and Creamy Gorgonzola—fantastic cheeses added into the line with our Artigiano, our Sharp Provalone. So, we continue to add cheeses to our artisan line.”
In addition to new products in the company’s artisan line, BelGioioso is redoubling its focus on snacking options, and adding on trend new offerings to the BelGioioso brand.
“In our traditional BelGioioso line, we have started with more snacking,” Sofia notes. “We have a wonderful Power-Full Parmesan full of power and protein to get you through those long days. We continue with…a meat—a little salame and provolone package. So, these are all great new things that BelGioioso is bringing to the consumer to enjoy, taste that quality, and enjoy the experience. There’s something for everyone.”
From its history producing whole wheels of cheese to its current iteration, a forward-thinking company offering a full line of cheeses from wheels to innovative snacking options, BelGioioso is primed to carry artisan tradition into the future.
