Artisanal Italian desserts start-up, Sweetaly Dolceria, was chosen by Agropur, a Canadian dairy cooperative, to join North America’s dairy industry accelerator program: Inno Accel. Sweetaly’s four founders will join five other businesses in the four-month program, which is designed to innovate the dairy sector and help selected start-ups challenge dairy industry conventions and find ground-breaking new ways forward.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us to grow our business,” said Sweetaly Co-Founder Stefano Amelio in a press release. “We’re thrilled to work with experienced mentors and learn from the know-how of the entire Agropur team in this open innovation process. It’s an exciting challenge and a wonderful opportunity.”
According to the company’s press release, it will receive several months of support through the program, worth $25,000—including $15,000 in cash. The accelerator is located in the Greater Montreal Region, in Quebec, Canada.
“As a natural, local, and sustainable company driven by the entrepreneurial spirit of its founders, Sweetaly has the potential to help spark major changes in our industry,” said Simon Olivier, Agropur Senior Vice-President, Strategy & Innovation. “The entire Agropur team was impressed by Sweetaly’s innovative spirit.”
Throughout the duration of the program, each company is assigned two mentors, along with twenty coaches with various areas of expertise, such as marketing, sales, R&D, etc. This provides the company with support and guidance as they develop its business.
