For 108 years, Tillamook County Creamery Association has churned out premium cheese, ice cream, yogurt, sour cream, and butter, selling to retailers across the country. Looking to expand further, Tillamook recently underwent an extensive search, digging through rosters of top-ranked shopper marketing agencies, before choosing The Mars Agency as its new partner.
“During the pitch process, the Mars team demonstrated a high level of strategic thinking and unique retailer insights and know-how,” said Tillamook’s VP of Marketing John Russell, in a recent press release. “We are certain that they can help us achieve our significant and accelerated growth goals. In addition, we loved their independence and passion for what they do. Like us, they are a multi-generational, family-owned business that share similar values: commitment to the best quality, authenticity in relationships and a level of care in everything that they do.”
Situated on the Oregon coast, the nearly 90 farmer families strong dairy cooperative, has already started to integrate The Mars Agency into its client team. The Mars Agency will help Tillamook transform from a more product-centric approach to true retailer- and shopper-centric planning and execution. The team’s collective efforts will be in market in early 2018.
Will this partnership successfully milk Tillamook’s marketing strategy for what it’s worth? Deli Market News will continue to report.
