Vermont Creamery's Director of Marketing FM Muñoz Talks Company Rebrand

Shining amongst the Summer Fancy Food aisles of the U.S.-based cheese and dairy providers was a deep red booth I hope you didn’t miss—Vermont Creamery debuted a vibrant rebrand that shows up the “new look, new you,” mantra. Director of Marketing FM Muñoz shared with me that the update was about enhancing the company’s brand to match its story rather than changing it.

“The new look is really reflective of the care and quality of our product and our Vermont heritage,” FM explained as we admired the illustrations of homey-looking farms housing goats and cows on rolling fields.

As we reported when the news initially broke, Vermont Creamery partnered with Minneapolis-based design and branding agency Little & Company to realize its vision of a brand that better reflected its unique history and the care it put into each of its products. Having stood surrounded by that vision as it was realized on plates, shelves, and a number of pins I may or may not have snagged from the booth, I asked FM about the motivation behind the move.

“It was really important to us that we were able to, through this new brand design, tell the story of where we came from, and what matters to us as a business—of course our farms and farmers, the people that work within our business every day, product quality and ingredients, as well as our founding story as a pioneer of fresh goat cheese in America,” FM explained.

Vermont Creamery partnered with Little & Company to realize its vision for its rebrand

And keep your eyes peeled for the winter of 2019: FM told me the team is debuting new packaging for Créme Fraîche and Mascarpone, reducing use of plastic resin in one of multiple moves to express how Vermont Creamery is continuously committed to sustainability and innovation.
