Full disclosure: I am on the millennial-populated Harry Potter train. So, having just recently had my first butterbeer at Universal Studios’ Wizarding World of Harry Potter earlier this month, you can imagine my excitement for one of the latest flavors Yuengling’s Ice Cream has unveiled.
Yes, Butterbeer is the latest to join the company’s lineup.
“We are always looking for ways to inspire our fans and spark creativity. Whether it's our flavor names and descriptions or the recipes themselves—we’re in the business of having fun,” said company President David Yuengling. “We hope we made J.K. Rowling proud with this flavor.”
I certainly can’t wait to have a chance at it. The company said in a press release that the popular wizarding beverage inspired it to take on the flavor made from half buttercream ice cream, half butterscotch ice cream, twisted with a butterscotch swirl. The result, it said, is magical decadence that will transport you to another place and time.
Additionally, the company is adding something a little more fruity and refreshing to its portfolio–by popular demand, Strawberry was also announced to the Yuengling’s Ice Cream launches to come.
Having turned to social media to gauge customer interest levels and solicit fan feedback on new flavors, Yuengling’s said that Strawberry has been a consistent request since the brand relaunched in 2014.
Both are currently available in pints, with quarts being made available in the coming months. Stay tuned to Deli Market News as we bring you the latest on this and all other deli categories.
