Partnerships, product launches, and prepared foods are the three Ps of Calavo’s showcase at this year’s International Dairy Deli Bakery Association (IDDBA) event. Senior Vice President of Sales Kate Brooks sat down to share insights and details.
“One of our strategic platforms for this year has been to lean into the deli and prepared space at retail,” says Kate. “While we have historically partnered with our customers in this department, we see our greatest opportunity to grow in this category. We will showcase a wide swath of our capabilities and hope to make a splash as we return to the show for the first time in several years.”
At IDDBA 2023, Calavo hopes to introduce, or in some cases, reintroduce, the retail world to the company as an innovative deli and prepared foods manufacturer. One of its most exciting highlights will be its recently launched partnership with General Mills under the Old El Paso label.
“This high-profile relationship allows us to produce six fresh, refrigerated SKUs under the Old El Paso label, the hands-down market leader in the Hispanic category,” adds Kate. “We will be featuring our three guacamole and three salsa SKUs and discussing opportunities to create a destination in the deli or dairy department with this product.”
Over the years, Calavo has honed its skills in fresh manufacturing to produce high-quality fresh foods, and it is prepared to spotlight its evolution to show attendees. It is these skills that make the company a great partner for buyers.
“Calavo’s foundation in innovation and customization makes us an ideal choice for those customers who really want to stand apart from their competitors,” Kate explains. “We pride ourselves on our relationship and always seek to be a complete solutions provider.”
