It’s the holiday season with the whoop-de-do and hickory dock and a million other things to do before we hang up our sock—or at least that’s how I feel, both as a consumer and as a trade news writer. With so much shopping to be had in the weeks leading up to the turn of the decade, retailers are sure to be looking for hacks to not only increase the rings at the register, but also keep their shoppers well prepared to tackle all that’s left to do. I sat down to chat with Brian Lovejoy, General Manager of Coffee at Califia Farms, who shared what the plant-based beverage brand has to offer retailers that are looking to keep shoppers powered up all season long.
“Holidays are a busy time for shoppers—from entertaining to traveling to attending holiday parties. In the U.S., dollar sales for the ready-to-drink coffee category is up 16 percent versus a year ago. And oat milk, which is up 168 percent over the past year, pairs beautifully with coffee to create a rich, creamy texture,” Brian explained. “Additionally, we wanted to give consumers a coffee option that was delicious, but with much less sugar than a lot of other single-serve coffee options. Our canned Nitro Draft Lattes contain 0 to 12 grams of sugar per can, depending on the flavor.”
