Awards season is upon us here in the specialty sector, and Eat Just is one of the industry names receiving recognition for its cutting-edge approach to expanding the plant-based sector along with the meat case. The innovator was honored in two categories of the Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas Awards for its work in the cultured meat industry and its creation of the plant-based egg brand JUST Egg.

Josh Tetrick, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Eat Just“An idea is just an idea, but it takes the resilience and intelligence of a team to turn it into something meaningful that can make more of the food we eat healthier for us and for our planet. I’m grateful to Fast Company for this recognition and grateful to the Eat Just team who helped us get where we are today and where we’re headed tomorrow,” said Josh Tetrick, Co-Founder and CEO of Eat Just.

Eat Just was recognized by the magazine as a World Changing Company of the Year alongside other industry leaders, according to a press release.

Eat Just was honored in two categories of the "Fast Company’s" World Changing Ideas Awards for its work in the cultured meat industry and its creation of the plant-based egg brand JUST Egg

Additionally, the company was named a finalist in the Food category of Fast Company’s fifth annual competition for its trailblazing efforts in creating and commercializing cultured meat.

Stephanie Mehta, Editor-in-Chief, Fast Company“There is no question our society and planet are facing deeply troubling times. So, it’s important to recognize organizations that are using their ingenuity, impact, design, scalability, and passion to solve these problems,” said Stephanie Mehta, Editor-in-Chief of Fast Company. “Our journalists, under the leadership of Senior Editor Morgan Clendaniel, have discovered some of the most groundbreaking projects that have launched since the start of 2020.”

Eat Just was selected in part due to its significant impact over the past year on both the plant-based industry through its JUST Egg brand which uses less water, land, and lowers CO2 emissions, as well as the growing cultured meat industry after launching its GOOD Meat brand. The company also made history as one of the first companies to receive regulatory approval for cultured meat in Singapore, selling and serving its new chicken product beginning in December.
