Flowers Foods recently added another Chief to its team after announcing the appointment of Mark Chaffin to Chief Information Officer. Chaffin, who has served as Flowers' interim CIO since September 2019, is responsible for Flowers' information technology strategy and operations and will report to R. Steve Kinsey, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer.
“My time as interim CIO of Flowers Foods allowed me to discover our shared values and a common vision for transforming business through the power of technology,” Chaffin remarked. “I look forward to supporting Flowers' continued growth and evolution, and I am honored to continue to lead this outstanding team of technology professionals who are passionate about serving our customers and their fellow employees every day."
Before joining Flowers Foods, Chaffin was a partner in Fortium Partners' Southeast practice, focusing on IT strategy, business process improvement, technology commercialization, and analytics, a press release noted.
"Mark brings a strong focus on accountability and best practices in technology and process," Kinsey explained. "He has extensive experience guiding IT teams and has done an outstanding job as interim CIO. We're pleased he's come on board."
Chaffin has also previously served as CIO at sgsco, a global package and brand design and marketing company, and was CIO of Acosta Sales and Marketing. Prior to that, Chaffin founded Florida Technology, a firm focused on business intelligence and application development. In addition, he has launched and operated the national business intelligence practice for Avanade, a global professional services company founded as a joint venture between Accenture and Microsoft. Chaffin holds a bachelor's degree from Jacksonville University.
Congratulations to Mark on this new position!
