Big things are happening in the world of chocolate! While the flavor of many consumers’ favorite go-to snack remains the same, the faces behind it are changing, as GODIVA announced its new CEO, Nurtac Ziyal Afridi.

The new appointment comes after two months of Afridi serving as interim Chief Executive Officer, during which she developed a three-year strategy to optimize GODIVA’s omnichannel structure, a press release revealed.

Afridi serves as a board member for both GODIVA and Chief Strategy and Growth Officer of Yildiz Holding, which owns the popular chocolate company. In her new role, she will focus on making the supplier’s products more accessible to consumers, as well as building loyalty, by extending into new channels and geographies through the use of online resources.

During her time with parent company Yildiz Holding, Afridi helped transform the business into a global phenomenon, with over 300 brands available in more than 120 different countries. Continuing on her streak of success, Afridi also led the acquisition of GODIVA in 2008, and the licensing deals for GODIVA in Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, and Australia.
