Last time I spoke with Greenridge Naturals, the specialty meat supplier teased an upcoming expansion at its Elk Grove Village, Illinois, headquarters. Now it’s official. Greenridge has announced an expansion to its 35,000-square-foot production facility, where it trims, seasons, smokes, packs, and ships its uncured deli meats, sausages, and meat sticks.
“The new space will total over 100,000 square feet and will allow us to expand our production capabilities, including state-of-the-art slicing machines and a dedicated curing room,” Sebastian Madej, Co-Founder, told me.
With the new space, Greenridge will also expand its product portfolio to include shelf-stable cured meats, pre-sliced deli meats, and the new snack sticks and Ridge Packs. These new offerings cater to the convenient on-the-go options that have seen a huge increase in demand over the past couple of years.
“In addition to new products, our expanded facility will allow us to grow the research and development process. We will have a dedicated team testing new spice blends, cooking techniques, and product innovation to offer more of our all-natural products to consumers who are looking for high-quality, clean-label food for their families,” Sebastian added.
