GrubMarket is stickering its logo across the West Coast as it bolsters its presence in the market by adding to its portfolio. Last week, the next-gen Uber Eats-like delivery service completed its acquisition of VIP Wholesale, marking GrubMarket’s second Southern California acquisition in 2019.
"VIP Wholesale is an incredibly reputable and long-standing food supplier in the San Diego region,” said Mike Xu, CEO of GrubMarket, in a press release. “We sincerely look forward to welcoming them into the GrubMarket Family, as we have some exciting plans in the works."
VIP Wholesale is a San Diego-based supplier of quality produce and specialty foods that services single-unit restaurants, chain restaurants, traditional markets, grocery stores, schools, and large institutional accounts across the San Diego region. Now that it is under the GrubMarket umbrella, VIP Wholesale will be able to leverage the company's robust supply chain network, geographical presence, and innovative technologies to further its own growth.
“GrubMarket recognizes the corporate values of VIP Wholesale and shares the same spirit as our team. They are deeply aligned with our focus on providing maximum value to our customers at all times. We look forward to leveraging this new relationship to further expand our business and grow our sales to the next level,” added Huy Huynh, CEO of VIP Wholesale, who has led the company for more than 15 years.
Following the acquisition, VIP Wholesale will continue to be managed by its current leadership team at its headquarters in San Diego.
