New facility alert! H-E-B is once again bolstering its ever-expanding Texas network with the introduction of its latest high-tech fulfillment center. Harnessing innovative solutions to drive its omnichannel growth, the company has unveiled a brand-new e-commerce fulfillment center in Cibolo, Texas.
As part of a broader expansion strategy for the retailer, the newly debuted Cibolo facility marks H-E-B’s eighth e-commerce fulfillment center opened since 2018. The retailer plans to continue opening facilities across the state to support its ongoing expansion in Texas, according to a press release.
The 55,000-square-foot facility will be used to stock goods found in stores, which are used to satisfy Curbside and Home Delivery orders, allowing for more capacity, greater efficiency, less aisle congestion for shoppers in stores, and better product availability.
The location will support Curbside and Home Delivery orders in Cibolo, New Braunfels, and surrounding cities around the San Antonio area. To help streamline the process and boost productivity, the facilities optimize various forms of technology to help partners throughout the order process, the release noted.
The Cibolo facility is expected to employ about 200 H-E-B Partners as part of the retailer’s e-commerce team.
How will the retailer continue to expand its footprint, and how will this latest move bolster the supplier’s specialty departments and overall grocery operations? DMN will surely report.
