Mikey's™ Introduces Gluten and Grain-Free Superfood Tortillas

Wednesday, September 30th, 2020

A little-known fact about me is that I have a gluten allergy. I know, heart-breaking, but not as devastating in this day and age. In fact, our industry is quickly innovating the gluten-free market so that those with physical limitations to this very prevalent ingredient don’t need to pine after anything in the grocery aisle. But, boy, do I miss burritos.

And it seems Mikey’s™ has heard this call, having recently launched a new vegetable-based Superfood Tortilla line.

Michael Tierney, Founder, Mikey's™"The initial idea was to provide gluten-free consumers products that do not require any compromise made with a few simple, high-quality ingredients that deliver dense nutrition and great taste," Michael Tierney, Founder, shared. "Mikey's ingredients are an important part of who we are and what they stand for. We strongly believe that superior taste comes from high quality ingredients and that no one, regardless of allergies or dietary restrictions, should ever be forced to compromise on nutrition or taste."

Both an innovative and colorful addition to the Mikey's product line, the initial launch introduces three varieties:

  • Mikey's Sweets & Beets Gluten and Grain-Free Tortillas: made with purple sweet potato and beets
  • Mikey's Golden Turmeric Gluten and Grain-Free Tortillas: made with turmeric and hemp protein
  • Mikey's Super Greens Gluten and Grain-Free Tortillas: made with spinach, broccoli, and spirulina

Sold in packs of eight at an SRP of $4.99, Mikey’s Superfood Tortillas are currently available exclusively at Sprouts Farmers Market or on the company’s website,

Mikey's recently introduced gluten- and grain-free superfood tortillas

The initial launch of Mikey's Superfood Tortillas are all vegan, gluten free, grain free, dairy free, soy free, and non-GMO Project Verified, according to a press release, perfect for the growing number of shoppers looking to incorporate more vegetables, antioxidants, and immunity-boosting ingredients into their diet while still enjoying their favorite foods. Versatile and aesthetically attractive, the new line can be used as a base for recipes, for wraps, and/or whatever the consumer’s heart (and stomach) might desire.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I think I have a date with a burrito.
