Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Wins Big at American Cheese Society Awards; Lynn Giacomini Stray and Kuba Hemmerling Comment

If you’ve been keeping up with DMN lately, you know the 40th annual American Cheese Society’s Annual Judging & Competition recently took place. At the event, Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company took home four awards, including first place in multiple categories.

The cheesemaker’s TomaProvence earned first place in the American Originals with Flavor Added category, and CA Coastal Blue achieved first place for Farmstead Cheeses aged 60 days+. Original Blue took the second place award for Rindless Blue-Veined Cheese, while Aged Gouda was awarded a second place ribbon for Dutch Style Cheese, aged 10 months or more.

According to a press release, the American Cheese Society Judging & Competition, is the largest judging and competition of its kind for American-made cheeses. The 2023 event had 1,454 products entered from 195 different companies.
