U.K. based global bakery firm, Rich Products, has announced new steps in its recent restructuring process, which includes a new multi-million manufacturing facility and three new senior staff members.
Describing the new facility (dubbed the "bakery centre [sic] of excellence") as a step forward, Managing Director David Hunt asserts that the facility will retain “the ability to innovate and hand-finish as required,” while offering a new “customer solutions centre” at the production site. This will allow clients to collaborate with Rich Products’ team as part of the company’s commitment to “put customers at the heart of the manufacturing process,” according to Food Manufacture U.K.
The company has closed three production sites—in Fareham, Hampshire; Portchester, Hampshire; and Hartlebury, Worcestershire—in an effort to consolidate its operations. According to the news source, the new 13-acre facility contains six automated production lines, including a “smart” line for smaller, artisan product batches.
Rich Products is also bringing on new staff members including John Want as Marketing Director, Hazel Tompkins as Insight and Innovation Director, and John Moore as Commercial Director.
