Rumiano Cheese Discusses a Successful Winter Fancy Food Show

Thursday, February 13th, 2020

Needless to say, there was no shortage of specialty food innovation at the Winter Fancy Food Show (WFFS) 2020. One company that stood out to me, however, was Rumiano Cheese and its premium products. I had the chance to speak with Jillian Casacca, Sales Associate, to get a better sense of why WFFS is such a landmark event for the company.

Jillian Casacca, Sales Team Member, Rumiano Cheese“It’s always the first show of the year, which sets the tone. And it’s right in our backyard so we’re able to ease into show season, see everyone, pick up where the previous year’s projects left off, and get in touch with the market,” Jillian explained. “Our goals were to meet and catch up with business partners, customers, and extended team members. We also showed off some new flavors and concepts to get everyone excited about where we’re going and what we’re doing this year.”

Shows are an ideal way to network because people from all aspects of the industry are together in one spot at one time. This made WFFS a perfect opportunity for Rumiano to showcase its products.

“We featured some new flavors from our ever-evolving Redwood Coast line which we will be announcing in the coming months,” said Jillian. “We also saw great interest in some new markets that we are delving into.”

To echo Jillian, there were tons of products to be sussed out at the show, so I was curious to find out how Rumiano has positioned itself as a major player in the cheese category.

“Between the century-old family-owned business and our special milkshed, Rumiano is unique in itself. When you combine those standout qualities with trendy flavors, products, and brands, you’ve got something that sets itself apart on the shelf,” Jillian concluded.

WFFS is widely known as a must-attend event for our industry. So, for those of you who didn’t show up, be sure to check out the Specialty Food Association’s Summer Fancy Food Show that will commence in New York!
