Savorly's Co-Founders Detail Latest Launch

When companies first hit the market, they’re making an educated gamble—hoping that their products will resonate with consumers and buyers alike. When Savorly’s Party Bites hit shelves at select Whole Foods, Central Market, and The Fresh Market, the success was immediate. To hear more about this incredible beginning, and how this young company is looking to keep growing, I spoke with Co-Founders David Gotlib and Ethan Dabush.

David Gotlib, Co-Founder, Savorly“Savorly was created to bring the strong tradition of Europe's frozen appetizers to the U.S. In Europe, it is common to gather with friends for ‘apero’ in an atmosphere where food is shared,” David shared with me. “After carefully studying food trends in Europe and the U.S. markets, we decided to enter the largely sleepy category of frozen appetizers with a bit of flair and innovation. We aim to redefine the frozen aisle in the U.S with a product that is easy to bake and serve, has approachable packaging, and offers an elevated experience to the consumer. To be honest, we exceeded our own expectations on the shelves for a new brand launch, increasing velocities week over week. We also got great insights and direct consumer feedback at the many demos we hosted at the retailers.”

Savorly’s products, as David noted, are notably different from other frozen food appetizer offerings, making the cocktail bites, mini tarts, and mini gratins—among other Savorly products—a true stand-out in center store.

Ethan Dabush, Co-Founder, Savorly“Our fun packaging and brand identity stand out in the frozen aisle. Because we offer a premium new experience we anticipate drawing new customers to this section of the supermarket and thus drive incremental sales to the category,” remarked Ethan.

Two of its most recent products include its Cocktail Bites and Mini Gratins. The Savorly Cocktail Bites are petite appetizers made of puff pastry with toppings and garnishes including Emmental Cheese, Spinach & Ricotta, Tomato & Vegetables, and Olive Tapenade. (I’ll take twelve of each, thank you, and so will appetizer-loving shoppers.)

The Mini Gratins are a spin on an old classic. They are created by baked sliced potatoes layered with mozzarella, Emmental cheese, Gran formaggio, and Gorgonzola for the perfect appetizer or single-serve side! The Cauliflower & Broccoli Gratins swap potatoes for veggies and adds Emmental cheese to spruce them up for a party.

“Savorly is made with European savoir-faire which stands for quality and taste. Our products are NON-GMO and clean label,” David stated. “We replaced the traditional frozen appetizer cheeses and artificial preservatives with ricotta, olives, grilled eggplant, and all the other good stuff you’d prep with yourself. Our products are veggie forward and built on elevated flavor combinations.”

Trying is believing, in my eyes at least, and Savorly’s products deliver on unique flavor, delicious taste, and stand-out packaging. Keep reading Deli Market News as we continue to track the success of companies like Savorly.
