Whenever Schaller & Weber announces new happenings, my ears perk up. After interviewing the company last year about its curry ketchup—which is to die for, fellow Americans—I was hooked. The latest news to come from the esteemed meat company is a collaboration with notable New York restaurants, bringing to life the L.E.S. Sausage series.
“Given that the Schaller & Weber story all began with a sausage-making apprenticeship by my teenage grandfather, the choice of sausages for this collaboration was a natural one," stated Jeremy Schaller, the third-generation Owner of Schaller & Weber. “Bringing fresh flavor to our heritage is what genuinely inspires me, not just with epicurean projects such as this but also with opening the new store in the Lower East Side that will connect with an entirely new audience.”
According to a release from Schaller & Weber, the barbecues of summer are not slowing down any time soon and New York City’s restaurants are out in full swing to give eaters the best of the best ‘cue fare. Each restaurant, which includes The Flower Shop, Egg Shop, and Café Select, has developed a unique recipe featuring the L.E.S. Sausage series. This gourmet trio is a testament to the more-than-tasteful delights that reveal the flavor of NYC’s Lower East Side.
