Subway® Restaurants Names New Chief Marketing Officer

The Subway® brand is optimizing its marketing strategy with a new leader. This week, the restaurant brand named Carrie Walsh as Chief Marketing Officer, North America, appointing her to lead the North America marketing and advertising strategy for Subway. The company also built out its executive leadership team with Robin Seward (named Senior Vice President of Marketing Strategy and Planning), Aidan Hay (named Vice President of Operations, North America), and Bill McCane (named Vice President of Global Development).

Carrie Walsh, Chief Marketing Officer, North America, Subway®"I have been a Subway customer and brand fan throughout my life and am thrilled to be joining this iconic brand and great team," said Walsh. In addition to being a fan of the brand, Walsh brings 15 years of experience to the table. This has included building brands across the restaurant, retail, and CPG industries, including for Michaels Stores, YUM! Brands Pizza Hut (where she served as CMO), and PepsiCo.

In her new position with Subway, Walsh will also help define the company’s global brand standards and international strategy.

Seward, as Subway’s new Senior Vice President of Marketing Strategy and Planning, will oversee all marketing planning for the U.S. including sponsorships, partnerships, menu architecture and design, and the marketing calendar to execute the brand's business goals, according to a press release. Prior to Subway, she worked as the CMO for Schlotzsky's Austin Eatery and Rita's Italian Ice, leading marketing and product innovation teams and launching new brand products.

Aidan Hay, Vice President of Operations, North America, Subway®As the company’s new Vice President of Operations for North America, Hay will help develop strategic company initiatives to drive restaurant and operational excellence. Before entering his new role with the restaurant company, he served as General Manager/Vice President of Global Operations for YUM! Brands and Senior Vice President of US Company Operations for The Coffee & Tea Leaf.

Crane will be taking on the position of Vice President of Global Development, in which he will spearhead Subway's development strategies and execute initiatives to cultivate new corporate partnerships. McCane’s resume includes Senior Leadership positions with Burger King, Tim Hortons, MAACO Auto Body, and most recently For Eyes by Grandvision, where he held the position of Chief Operations Officer.
