February is choc(olate) full of celebrations. Already known ubiquitously for Valentine’s Day, the month also happens to be National Chocolate Month. Sugar Bowl Bakery is taking this opportunity by the chocolate horns and offering limited edition Ruby Dipped Madeleines. The minority- and family-owned bakery is making this special batch free for its chocolate-loving fans, while supplies last.
“While we love all baked goods, we do have a special affinity for all things chocolate; there are so many variations it can take, and we are always trying to dream up new ways to delight our fans,” said Kevin Ly, Director of Innovation and R&D. “These Ruby Dipped Madeleines are almost too pretty to eat, and we hope everyone who has the chance to try them falls in love with them as much as we did.”
Made from ruby cacao beans, the ruby chocolate’s pink hue is naturally occurring; boasts a sweet, berry-like flavor; and is completely unlike milk or dark chocolate, seeing that it’s not overly milky or bitter. Ruby cacao and chocolate took the specialty world by storm as trends, recipes, and products populated social media and retail shelves.
With connotations of red, pink, and sweet in the air surrounding Valentine’s Day, consumers won’t be able to pass this opportunity up. And as the madeleines are best enjoyed as a snack or dessert, pairings of tea and coffee come to mind for when shoppers are looking for something light to enjoy in the deli section.
Beginning February 1 at midnight via an online sweepstake, fans can enter to win their own small batch production package of these beautiful rosy treats. According to the release, those that enter will also automatically be entered to win a year’s supply of Sugar Bowl Bakery treats as well.
As this limited-time offering will not be sold in stores, this trade news writer can’t wait for them to be! So keep checking back as we keep an eye on the wire.
