Purveyors of the University of Wisconsin River Falls Dairy Pilot Plant renovation project completed a new, high-tech training room, which was used for the first time this morning, earning them a tip of the hat from the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA). The organization contributed $200,000 to the $4 million project, expected to be completed next spring.

John Umhoefer, Executive Director, WCMA“High-quality, hands-on training is essential to the U.S. dairy industry’s competitive edge in a global marketplace,” said John Umhoefer, Executive Director. “We applaud the leadership team at UW-River Falls for its commitment to the dairy pilot plant renovation project, and WCMA is pleased to partner in continued fundraising efforts.”

The University of Wisconsin offers majors in Food Science and Technology along with continuing education courses on pasteurization, cheesemaking, and food safety. Limited spaces are available in the University’s cheesemaker’s short course. Click here for a complete class list.
