MADISON, WI

While we all do our best to adhere to safety guidelines and practice sanitary recommendations, sometimes we need a little help along the way to ensure operations are kept in tip-top shape. The Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) is providing a helping hand by launching a free COVID-19 webinar available exclusively to members on Thursday, October 1 from 1–2 p.m. (CDT).

John Umhoefer, Executive Director, Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association“Dairy manufacturers and processors deserve clear advice and support in their efforts to protect their valued staff and their businesses,” said John Umhoefer, WCMA Executive Director. “WCMA is pleased to offer practical insights and resources in partnership with state officials and industry experts.”

Wisconsin regulators will highlight new operations guidance for Wisconsin employers on mitigating the risk of viral transmission and will unveil a new, free service offering confidential COVID-19 consultations by experts from the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene.

According to the press release, the new consulting service from the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene can help businesses develop a COVID exposure prevention, preparedness, and response plan; conduct an analysis of the workplace; and identify ideas for administrative, engineering, and PPE controls to reduce COVID exposure in workplaces.

WCMA will reserve time at the end of the webinar for DHS and WSLH staff to respond to member questions. WCMA will present pre-submitted questions from members anonymously. To participate, members are encouraged to send questions to WCMA by Wednesday, September 30 to WCMA Communications, Education, and Policy Director Rebekah Sweeney at [email protected].

As we continue to navigate this turbulent time, the industry will only continue to grow and strengthen by standing together.

Deli Market News will continue to bring the latest the industry has to offer in deli, dairy, and specialty.
