This fall, don’t miss out on the opportunity to collaborate with key stakeholders and explore actionable solutions in the dairy industry. Dairy processing professionals are invited to gather for a pivotal hybrid meeting hosted by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) on September 12, 2024, aimed at addressing and solving the industry's labor challenges.
“Hearing directly from WCMA members about the workforce challenges they face is critical to crafting meaningful advocacy strategies and useful tools,” says Rebekah Sweeney, Senior Director of Programs and Policy. “We look forward to a day of insightful discussion and welcome all participants.”
This upcoming meeting promises to unite industry leaders to tackle pressing workforce issues and explore viable solutions, marking a significant step forward for the dairy processing sector.
The panel of experts will include Jeff Pertl, the newly-named Secretary-designee of the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families; and Rebecca Giroux, Community and Economic Development Officer at the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority.
According to a press release, the afternoon session will feature mini-presentations on national and statewide labor issues, including barriers such as childcare, housing access, immigration restrictions, and workforce training. Both in-person and online attendees will then break into small groups to identify necessary policy changes and new industry tools.
The full day of networking and discussion costs $20 for in-person attendees, while virtual participation is free, thanks to exclusive sponsorship by Novonesis.
