The most prolific rapper of my middle school days, Soulja Boy, once said, “I got old money, I got new money,” which I think is as close as we’ll come to summing up the tight rope walk performed by the food industry on the daily. “We believe that snacks must be delicious, crunchy, and flavorful, while using the best and cleanest ingredients possible to achieve higher nutritional value. We started our company in May of 2012 with our Veggie Chips and Sticks, which were an instant hit in national conventional and natural markets,” Hass Alireza, CEO, explained to me. “The success of the initial launch allowed us time and resources to create and expand our offerings with lentil chips in five on-trend flavors in May 2015. Then, as these wonderful chips were climbing to the number one spot in the lentil chip category, we were busy creating our newest favorite, the very popular and award-winning quinoa chips, which were launched in May 2017. Recently, due to customer demand for organic veggie straws, we began working on our own formulation that debuted in 2018 and were met with great success nationally. Until now, there has been very few options for kids and families to enjoy their favorite snacks without any of the bad stuff, which is why I think our products have become such hits.”

The flavors The Daily Crave brings to its products are fun and fresh, but, if I’m being honest, what instantly caught my attention is its chic yet playful packaging. The Daily Crave’s chip bags feature news headlines, like “Uninvited Guests Loot Ancient Treasures,” and tidbits from breaking stories reporting on alien involvement, police arrests, and more linked to the likes of quinoa, lentils, and veggie chips.
“Our packaging concept was an extension of the brand name, which reminded me of the daily news and newspapers. I felt that it would not only be distinctive and stand out on the shelf, but we can use the design for informative and fun articles for everyone to enjoy while crunching away on our snacks,” Hass revealed to me. “We have about 10 very talented individuals bring it all to life and help set us apart from all other snacks.”
Although, The Daily Crave is newer in the snack world, Hass revealed to me that its footprint and fanbase continues to grow, with its products reaching airports, club stores, and chains like Sprouts, Jewel-Osco, Albertsons, Safeway, Shop Rite, Raley’s, and Whole Foods, and 20 countries around the world.
