I’m a big fan of cheese, and a big fan of Green Goddess dressing—the nearly 100-year-old herbaceous concoction cooked up at San Francisco’s Palace Hotel by chef Philip Roemer. So it’s fitting that 2019’s Winter Fancy Food Show brought Emmi Roth’s latest product—Green Goddess Gouda—back to the Baghdad by the Bay this January.
I spoke with Emily King, Marketing Specialist with Emmi Roth, to find out more about the Gouda and the accompanying project that’s empowering leaders in communities across the country.
“Here at the Winter Fancy Food Show a product that we’re very excited about is the Green Goddess Gouda,” Emily told me. “The Green Goddess Gouda came about because we were seeing Green Goddess dressing, Green Goddess flavoring all over the market. And Gouda is an expanding category for us and with the marketplace, so we wanted to combine those two aspects into one product.”
Additionally, Emily told me, Emmi Roth is launching the Green Goddess Project. This March, leaders from communities around the country can submit three-minute videos and vie for scholarship funds founded by proceeds from Green Goddess Gouda.
