Industry veteran Don Davis has been announced as the new President of the Foodservice Division for Advantage Solutions’ subsidiary Waypoint.
Davis brings 33 years of experience with key companies like Hillshire Brands, Sara Lee Corporation, ConAgra Foods, and Campbell Soup Company, and is a former executive of Tyson Foods.
“I am excited and honored to be joining the Waypoint team in this role as President and to become part of the Advantage Solutions enterprise,” said Davis, according to a press release. “Waypoint is regarded as a leader and pioneer in national foodservice solutions, and I look forward to continue inspiring great experiences away from home through exceptional execution, driving growth for the Advantage enterprise, and delivering unmatched results for our valued clients.”
Having served most recently as Tyson Foodservice’s Senior Vice President of Foodservice Channel Sales, he is credited with responsibility in the successful integration of two salesforces during the acquisition of Hillshire Brands by Tyson Foods.
“When we began the search to fill this critical executive role, we knew we had to identify a leader who not only had a track record of industry and foodservice success, but also had the ability to elevate the Waypoint platform to its next iteration within the Advantage Solutions enterprise,” said Davis’ direct superior and President and Chief Commercial Officer of Advantage, Jeff Hansberry. “Don’s demonstrated leadership at companies like Tyson and Hillshire and his experience integrating businesses will be critical factors as we take Waypoint’s industry-leading platform to the next generation of foodservice excellence. Don also brings a keen entrepreneurial mindset from his experience working in a foodservice venture startup environment, making him a perfect fit with Advantage.”
Davis will succeed Kevin O’Beirne, who announced his retirement last month, with the shift in position going into effect on October 1, 2016.
