US Foods' presence in Louisiana got that much larger due to its plan to triple the size of its F. Christiana facility in Jefferson Parish. Officials report that the expansion will bring the facility's floorplan to 200,000 square feet, according to a report by The New Orleans Advocate. This move boosts the company’s distribution network across the region.
US Foods acquired F. Christiana, a distributor of food and food-related products with a 1,800 restaurant, hotel, and convenience store network across Lousisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, in 2017.
“We are excited to strengthen our presence in Louisiana,” said Keith Knight, South Region President of US Foods. “This expansion will allow us to continue to grow and serve more customers throughout Louisiana.”
Construction is set to begin late this year and will take two years to complete. The expansion will also bring 45 new jobs to the area.
