Galaxy Nutritional Foods, the company behind the GO VEGGIE brand, has promoted Brian O’Farrell to CEO, effective August 3. O’Farrell’s predecessor, Rick Antonelli, will now become Chairman of the Board where he will continue overseeing the development of the company.
“Brian and I have managed this business together since day one,” said Antonelli. “I have the utmost confidence in his abilities. His leadership, work ethic, and business knowledge are unmatched.”
O’Farrell, who has been with the company for over six years, will continue to maintain his roles as CFO and COO as well. O’Farrell was responsible for taking the company public and relocating the company from Orlando, Florida to North Kingstown, Rhode Island, according to a press release.
“I have been fortunate that Rick has been an outstanding mentor and included me in all areas of the business during his tenure and I am very grateful that he will be staying on as the Chairman,” said O’Farrell. “We have a number of exciting new products hitting the market currently, a strong pipeline of new ideas and the strongest and most dedicated team we have had since I have been here. I am honored to have the opportunity to work with this group and excited for what lies ahead.”
Justin Jacobs, Managing Director of Mill Road Capital and Board member for Galaxy, said he has absolute confidence in O’Farrell’s ability to carry the company forward and believes the transition will be seamless.
