The public has been invited to taste the best cheeses in the US at the Championship Cheese Charity Event March 12 - 13 , with all ticket proceeds going to benefit Paul’s Pantry in Green Bay to support their mission to care for hungry people in the community.
This year, the contest logged over 1,700 entries, representing a new record, the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.
As the largest, most objective expert evaluation of cheese and butter, the United States Championship Cheese Contest is the nation’s premiere technical evaluation and competition. Entries are evaluated by a team judges selected from all areas of the country.
Tickets for the event are $25 and available at paulspantry.org. The event takes place in the Legends Club Room at the Lambeau Field Atrium in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Beginning at 6:30 p.m., attendees will witness the exclusive final round of cheese judging as the 2013 United States Cheese Champion. Dozens of the nation’s best and most unique cheeses will be sampled until 8:30 p.m.
The cheeses for sampling are entries competing for gold medals in the 17th biennial United States Championship Cheese Contest. These cheeses will be fresh from the judges’ evaluation, arriving from all corners of the nation.
