The American Cheese Society is celebrating the Second Annual American Cheese Month with the help of retailers around the country. The American Cheese Society has launched its Passport Program that has been designed to generate consumer enthusiasm for America's diverse cheeses. Cheese lovers can purchase a wallet-sized passport at any participating retailer for $10. The passport provides a discount ranging from 20-40 percent off a different cheese everyday from October 1st through the 31st.
The passport program also provides for a great cause with 100% of the proceeds from passport sales benefiting the nonprofit American Cheese Education Foundation. The foundation funds educational opportunities and scholarships for cheesemakers. Donations can also be made to the foundation and will help to ensure the highest quality, safest, most wholesome, and diverse cheeses can reach consumers via well-trained and certified folks behind your local cheese counter.
The program first kicked off last year with twelve participating retailers and this year the program has grown to include thirty retailers in seventeen states. Passport-holders can find a full list of participating retailers on the American Cheese Month website or by following the link below.
