PETALUMA, CA
Clover Stornetta Farms is launching 12 new flavors on the organic ice cream category.
With titles like Mint to Be, Cowlifornia Sweet Cream, and Hoppy Hour, this dairy dozen will debut as a six-month exclusive placement in local independent grocers and Whole Foods Market®, according to a press release.
"Giving Whole Foods Market and our independent stores an exclusive, serves our mission to support businesses with like-minded philosophies," Clover President & CEO Marcus Benedetti said in the release. "Craft ice cream is booming. The farming principles behind our nutritious milk coupled with interesting ice cream flavors and partnerships will put Clover's best dairy foot forward."
Clover Stornetta’s entire new line of “flavorites” are:
CHOCOLATE NIRVANA
Crafted by TCHO in Berkeley, providing a fair-trade chocolate made exclusively from Ecuadorian cocoa.
STRAIGHT UP VANILLA
Made with 100 percent real vanilla “fresh from the island of Madagascar,” as well as Clover’s own California organic milk and cream.
STRAWBERRY SHINDIG
The strawberries-and-cream-inspired flavor is also made with the company’s own fresh organic milk and cream, as well as Watsonville strawberries.
FRENCH PRESS
Every quart of premium dark roast is brewed by hand, pressed and balanced with the finest organic milk and cream.
MINT TO BE
Made from whole mint sprigs picked fresh from the farm. Clover states that their bright bouquet brings out the dark-chocolate chips and gives the organic dairy a clean, minty-fresh finish.
COWLIFORNIA SWEET CREAM
Made from farm fresh eggs, as well as organic whole milk and cream, this flavor is meant to bring summer-bound custard to the rest of the year.
CREAMY PB&C
With 100 percent natural roasted peanut butter (creamy style), dark chocolate, and organic milk and cream, Clover claims that PB&C tops Mom’s PB&J.
PETALUMA POTHOLE
This is reportedly an ode to rocky road and (in case you didn’t catch it) the potholes of Petaluma. Made with sweet milk chocolate ice cream, roasted almonds, and marshmallows brought the company tied it off with its own organic milk and cream to create a pothole worth hitting.
PISTACHIO PERFECTO
Clover calls this its most distinctive ice cream, with California pistachios that are hulled, roasted and buttered, then blended with organic milk and cream. The aim is for an earthy, rich result that the company says is both subtle and sweet.
HOPPY HOUR
Bear Republic’s award-winning IPA is now in ice cream. Clover blended the artisan ale to give its own fresh organic cream and milk a few hops.
TEMPT ME TOFFEE
Charles Chocolates in San Francisco’s English toffee mixes “cheekily” into Clover’s own vanilla ice cream batter to make a crunchy combo.
EAT YOUR MILK & COOKIES
The company mixed its own flavor with chocolate cookies, fresh organic milk and cream, to prove no one out-grows this combo.
Clover’s states in the release that it will debut these flavors with a multitude of advertising strategies that reflect its core values of sustainability, fresh farming, and the welfare of both families and animals. Part of this strategy will include in-store samples, a radio campaign, signage, and social media messaging.
