LOS ANGELES, CA
The long-rumored Eataly location in Los Angeles, California is reportedly opening in 2017.
According to the LA Times, Mario Batali confirmed the news via email saying, “It is official. We are opening in Westfield Century City.”
This new location will be the third in the United States, after New York City and Chicago. This store will be roughly the same size as the other two, around 50,000 square feet, and it will also have extensive outdoor and rooftop seating, according to the Times.
Eataly features 7 Italian themed sit down restaurants, a wide selection of upscale fresh produce and fine wines, as well as conveniences that many American shoppers might not be accustomed to like an on-site vegetable butcher.
“We cook what we sell and we sell what we cook,” according to a company statement. “We encourage customers to come in, have an amazing meal, ask the chef how the meal was made, buy the ingredients and replicate it at home. Our motto is: Eat, shop and learn!”
Since opening its first store in 2008, Eataly has become a mecca for foodies and lovers of fine Italian food.
