Eckrich continues its tradition of supporting military families by honoring veteran Richard Mercer and his family, together with help from Albertsons and country music star Randy Houser.
Before Houser's concert at the Gexa Energy Pavilion last Friday night, Richard and his family were escorted backstage to meet the singer. There, he awarded the family with a Albertsons gift card worth $1,000 as thanks for his service to our country.
"Like Eckrich, Albertsons and Randy are great supporters of our military families," said Chuck Gitkin, Vice President of Marketing, Innovation and R&D for John Morrell Food Group. "We are thankful for their service and are honored to surprise them with an exciting experience backstage with Randy Houser and $1,000 in free groceries at Albertsons."
"Any time I can spend some of my time with a military family is special for me," Houser agreed. "These families have sacrificed so much so I can go out and perform and do what I love. It was great to meet the Mercer family, hear their story and have them enjoy the concert courtesy of my partner, Eckrich."
This latest act of kindness is part of Eckrich's "Operation Inspiration" campaign. This campaign, through a partnership with the national nonprofit Operation Homefront, honors, thanks, and supports military families for their sacrifice and service. Houser has been a key supporter of this initiative throughout the summer.
According to a press release, Operation Homefront provides emergency financial and other assistance to the families of service members and wounded warriors.
This is a great cause that Eckrich, Albertsons, and Randy Houser are supporting. It warms my heart to see these three working together to help support America's heroes.
